And then all of a sudden there is this feeling. The feeling of finding words between the lines that express the fact of uncertainty and the questioning of one’s previous existence. While the pop world out there exhausts itself in interchangeable 3-minute autotune tracks, Phalleé & Baldu draw from the full: Their debut album is a manifesto of musical freedom. In the here and now, they celebrate the idea of the concept album: with eight free-flowing songs that joyfully explode the format boundaries of everyday German pop and escalate into an unheard-of form of pop radio play.

She – is Phalleé aka Stephanie Neigel: virtuoso singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter – one of the most exciting German female voices. Self-confident. Own. Sensitively radical.

He – is Tommy Baldu: one of Germany’s most sought-after drummers with a pop star past, sound researcher, multi-instrumentalist and sought-after producer with international experience – always in search of the music of true feeling.

Together they are – Phalleé & Baldu. During the corona lockdown, when the ground suddenly fell out from under musicians’ feet, existences hit the wall and band ships sank like lead, they saved themselves on their little dream island of music. Worries, fears, tensions, frustration – music as an outlet. Everything transformed into pure energy in sessions lasting hours, days and nights – and in the end there was the idea and the plan to build a life-saving raft to conquer new musical territory: Phalleé & Baldu!
